With a strong focus on inclusivity, Dramatis aims to bring the benefits of drama to the whole community and is proud to work with and champion a number of local area organisations including:
Radio Respect provides information about mental health conditions and offers local residents sign posting to helpful organisations. It includes both an online radio station (airing live shows hosted by a team of dedicated volunteers who discuss mental health issues whilst also playing some great music!) and a shop (which sells a large selection of vinyl records, cassettes and other vintage media) that people seeking mental health advice and support can go to for a cuppa and a chat. In 2018, Dramatis worked in partnership with Radio Respect to record and air a comedy sketch by the Act Your Age group (prepared during their script reading sessions).
Grandad’s Front Room
Grandad’s Front Room is a community shop and network that supports local charities and groups through actions that make a difference. Run by the legendary Danny, Dramatis is grateful for their ongoing help and enthusiasm.
CREATE is a Bognor Regis based youth project working to inspire and engage young people to help transform people’s perceptions of them. Dramatis works with the team to deliver a drama programme that builds confidence and self esteem.
Ellie Jayne (Photographer)
Ellie is studying media at Chichester University. She is a talented photographer in the making and kindly takes photos of the various activities Dramatis runs.
Celebrating Bognor Regis’s past, present and future through music and fundraising events, Bognorphenia runs a programme of regular events to support the community. In 2019, Dramatis will be working with them on a choir project.
Bognor Regis Pier Watch
BRPW work to protect the Grade ll listed building for future generations. Their role is to keep the beloved Pier, which is also a registered Community Asset, a talking and action point within the local authorities. BRPW were the charity partner for Dramatis first year anniversary celebration, helping to spread the Dramatis word via their database in return for a fundraising contribution from our event ticket sales.
Chichester Community Development Trust
Working with the communities at Graylingwell Park and Roussillon Park, Chichester Community Development Trust (CCDT) empowers people by developing skills and supporting projects that create local opportunities, employment and build community spirit. CCDT also owns and manages community buildings and land, safe-guarding these important spaces for the community, and reinvesting profits to create long-term economic, social and environmental benefits. CCDT have been very supportive partners to Dramatis in helping us secure our first Chichester location for classes and courses.
