With a strong focus on inclusivity, Dramatis aims to bring the benefits of drama to the whole community and is proud to work with and champion a number of local area organisations including:
Located in the heart of the South Downs national park, Amberley Museum is dedicated to preserving the working past of the South. In 2019, pupils from our youth classes joined forces with participants of our adult courses to take part in Amberley’s 40th Anniversary celebrations. Within the historical buildings, they created an immersive Victorian School Day experience for visitors to enjoy.
Bognor Regis Pier Watch
BRPW work to protect the Grade ll listed building for future generations. Their role is to keep the beloved Pier, which is also a registered Community Asset, a talking and action point within the local authorities. In 2019, we selected BRPW as the charity partner for the Dramatis first year anniversary celebration. They helped spread the word about us in return for a fundraising contribution from our ticket sales.
Chichester Community Development Trust
Working with the communities at Graylingwell Park and Roussillon Park, Chichester Community Development Trust (CCDT) empowers people by developing skills and supporting projects that create local opportunities, employment and build community spirit. CCDT also owns and manages community buildings and land, safe-guarding these important spaces for the community, and reinvesting profits to create long-term economic, social and environmental benefits. CCDT have been very supportive partners to Dramatis in helping us secure our Chichester location for classes and courses.
Chichester Hospital Radio
Chichester Hospital Radio has been serving the patients, staff and visitors to St. Richard’s Hospital, in Chichester since 1972. CHR broadcasts a range of informative and entertaining programmes, including a nightly Patient Request Programme – a service that no other broadcaster provides. Dramatis has worked with the production team at Chichester Hospital Radio to make professional recordings for the participants of our Adult Short Courses.
CREATE is a Bognor Regis based youth project working to inspire and engage young people to help transform people’s perceptions of them. In 2019, Dramatis worked with the team to deliver a drama programme designed to build confidence and self esteem amongst their members.
Felpham Village Conservation Society
The Village Conservation Society was formed in 1980 and was instrumental in the creation of the Felpham Conservation Area – the heart of the village. Today the Society is flourishing and exists to conserve the historical, cultural and aesthetic significance of the village’s built and natural environment. In 2019, pupils from the Dramatis youth groups, performed scenes from Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ at Felpham Village’s annual Summer Fete.
Grandad’s Front Room
Run by the legendary Danny, Grandad’s Front Room is a community shop and network that supports local charities and groups through actions that make a difference. Dramatis is grateful for their ongoing help, enthusiasm and for always coming to the rescue for some of our most bizarre requests!
St Wilfrid’s Priory Care Home
Set in a beautiful Grade II listed castle, the St Wilfrid’s environment has been designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and incorporates a number of features to promote warmth and a sense of tranquillity. Participants from our adult short courses entertained residents with a variety of sketches and skits which culminated with a group sing-a-long.
