The Team

The family ethos of Dramatis Community Drama school is carried through to our management team. Our qualified teaching staff are supported by friends and family members who kindly offer their business expertise in specific areas.

Principal and Teacher

A qualified ATCL Trinity and LAMDA teacher, Suzy trained under the Head Lecturer of Central School of Speech and Drama (Alan Allkins) and has been teaching for more than 10 years. Her experience includes working in primary and secondary schools, in both the public and private sector, for an international language school and for two renowned Drama schools. Having recognised the enjoyment and therapeutic benefits that drama brought to her students, Suzy later became an activity club manager for adults with mild to moderate dementia running a fun packed programme of drama activities and games to promote wellbeing. Her varied schedule of activities and patient approach led her to win the ‘Engagement and Wellbeing Specialist of the Year’ at the Hertfordshire Care Awards. An active member of a drama group since childhood, Suzy’s passion for the subject has seen her act in numerous plays, work backstage as a costume mistress and makeup artist, read numerous scripts and attend a wide range of theatre productions across the UK. Her interest in performing later extended to singing and she now sings as a soloist and backing vocalist for the award winning IDMC Gospel Choir. By continuing to hone her drama teaching and acting skills (regularly taking part in courses at The Actors Centre and ad-hoc jobs within the industry) Suzy can offer practical insight and guidance to her students.

Having studied with the National Youth Theatre, received a BA Honours from Court Theatre Training Company and spent a year at the prestigious Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, Kim’s impressive theoretical knowledge is matched by working experience within the industry. As an Actor and Physical Theatre performer, she has worked with the likes of Chichester Festival Theatre, The Courtyard Theatre and the N1 Theatre Company on a range of performances including Canvas, Three Sisters and Claw. She also has film experience, having shot a short film called Hoxton Square which was directed by Doug Rollins.  Kim’s knowledge and experience alongside her infectious energy and enthusiasm make her a perfect teacher for our youth groups.
